Uses of PP-R Pipes

PP-R (Polypropylene Random Copolymer Type 3) pipe is a thermoplastic polyolefin considered to be best carrier of potable hot and cold water in domestic and industrial waterlines. PP-R pipes are made with reference to the standard of DIN8077/8078 of Germany.

Polypropylene has three general types: homopolymer, random copolymer, and block copolymer. The co monomer used is typically ethylene. When ethylene-propylene rubber (EPDM) is added to polypropylene homopolymer, it increases its low temperature impact strength. But if randomly polymerized ethylene monomer is added to polypropylene homopolymer, it decreases the polymer crystallinity and makes the polymer more transparent.

Q-Tech delivers good quality PP-R pipes and fittings. PP-R pipes and fittings are best for both residential and commercial hot and cold installations. PP-R pipes can also be used in industrial installations especially in transportation of fluids like corrosive fluids or acids. PP-R pipes and fittings are also applicable in agriculture and horticulture water system, compressed air plants, swimming pools and rainwater systems.

What makes PP-R pipes and fittings widely used in waterline systems is its superior features. PP-R pipes have extremely long service life of up to 50 years. It is leak proof, non-delaying, and non-deforming. PP-R pipes have temperature resistance of up to 80C degrees and has heat preservation and energy saving properties.

Unlike other pipes, PP-R pipes has good chemical resistance, thus it is non-reactant to salt and acids, as well as taste and odor-neutral. It can be installed conveniently, is eco-friendly and recyclable.
